You Do the Math.

It's TV Free Week.

It's pouring down rain outside.

It's early dismissal today.

We do not participate in that crap. You shouldn't either. :)

No TV. BS!

Maybe you need to change it to random TV free days, i.e. if its sunny and actually worth doing something other than watch tv then its a tv free day.
It works here, sometimes we end up with several of them strung together, that way you don't have to deal with any mommy guilt about "not achieving the goal"

Um, another round of Monopoly, anyone?

I felt guilty after I posted that (above), so I turned off the t.v. and did a 100 piece puzzle with Thomas. It ended in him playing in our bay window while I cat napped. So um, thanks. I needed that.

Hi, we have three kids and we've never had a TV. The older two are excellent readers, though! (The youngest is too small to read, but he will spend quite a long time with a book.)

I don't even have time to read all the books, magazines and newspapers I would like to, so the TV would just be gathering dust anyway.

We actually put on our rainboots and jumped some puddles. Then we went of a long exciting ride on the "bendy bus." They were in heaven.

Instead of tv there is always the web, or if you need to be mobile try a download or two. Tonight I printed "how to write letters better" for my 3 year old and "how to handwrite" for my 6 year old from www.handwritinghelpforkids.com (I have no affiliation). It was super fun for them and it took them and me away from the tv.

About Me

You say "Single Mom," I say "Solo Mom." In my world, it's all about having your priorities in order, and getting my whites whiter than white is never, ever going to be a priority. Helping my girls paste glitter to their artwork, that's a priority. Sometimes I hide in the bathroom to get a bit of peace and quiet. But I never have to share the kisses.
