The Case for Cupcakes.
It's cupcake time again.
This time they're for the Zen Baby, who already understands the importance of The Cupcakes. For the past week, whenever I have asked her what she wants for her birthday, her answer has invariably been, "cupcakes." Which I swear, I did make for her.
But my mom got her a cake and you have to check out my newly minted three year old daughter blowing out her candles. After you do, I'm sure you'll have a better grasp of my affinity for the birthday cupcake.

Thank you for making me smile tonight... That's classic. I love the way that she made you crack up.
I've been reading your blog for a while and have never commented. I am also a single mother of a 2 year old. This video was hilarious. Lot's of love on that cake. :-)
Here's the latest classic video of my baby. http://vimeo.com/clip:139612
That was what being 2 and 3 is all about!!! Knowing those candles have to be blown out and coming to any means to do so. My nephew resorted to spitting on his cake last year cuz he couldn't figure out the blowing thing. We've started practicing with him already for this year.....I think we'll have much less spit on the cake this year. ;)
Happy birthday to Regan, may she have many, many, many more filled with health, happiness, and love.
That was the sweetest, funniest thing! Thank you for sharing! And Happy Birthday Regan!
I'm not a mom or anything but I faithfully read your blog (tips for the future, I suppose) and LOVE your stories about your daughters.
My favorite part of that video is after the candles are blown out and Regan is following the smoke with her fingertips. Classic. Thanks for making my Monday so much brigher!!!
Great video clip. It gave me my first smile today.
Thanks for all the birthday wishes!
Maile, much though I thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the performance, catching the smoke is my favourite part too.
I do not think that in the history of the world there exists a cuter video of candle blowing out festivities!
Aw Kim...that made me tear up it was so cute! I'm just beginning to plan Molly's birthday and I have to make sure to remember the video camera for just that moment.
Off topic..
I finished the book this weekend and loved it! I don't want to miss the discussion, do you know about when it might be?
Don't they make you feel like your heart could explode?
Single mom of a 2 1/2-y-o boy.
