Fall Back

I hate daylight savings time.

I hate it when we spring forward into darkness, and I hate it when we fall back into the chaos of an "extra" hour. There is nothing good about daylight savings time when you have kids. It just messes with them, and by extension, you.

Diva Girl was up at 5:30 this morning. 5:30. Bright eyed, bushy tailed, and ready to start her day (and everyone else's). And I don't need a crystal ball to tell me that she has every intention of taking that extra hour the clock now tells her she has before bedtime.

It doesn't even help that there has been sunshine streaming through my windows since 6:00 this morning. Sure, it was a beautiful sunrise, but I'd have rather been sleeping.

You and me both. Bram was also up at 5:30 am this morning. And there were no cartoons on until 7, argh, lol.

Yeah, my son was up ridiculously early this morning too. And since he no longer naps (argh!), he was completely miserable by bedtime.

Don't. Like. Time change.

They'll soon settle back down to waking up (and going to sleep) at a more reasonable hour. She says hopefully.

My son was a miserable toad all day today and yesterday. He woke up early and was tired yesterday so I put him down for a nap. So he didn't sleep well that night. So he was tired again today. In the end I just decided to duck and cover under the onslaught of tiredness tantrums and held off his nap. I just sent him to bed early instead.

Ugh! I'm glad it's not just me!! My daughter was up at 4:30 this morning! I've been quite snappy all week.

She's almost 2 and we're going to try putting her to bed a little later tonight, but that hasn't worked at all in the past.

Hate daylight savings too.

About Me

You say "Single Mom," I say "Solo Mom." In my world, it's all about having your priorities in order, and getting my whites whiter than white is never, ever going to be a priority. Helping my girls paste glitter to their artwork, that's a priority. Sometimes I hide in the bathroom to get a bit of peace and quiet. But I never have to share the kisses.
